And Mia and Wahu were completely engrossed in themselves, their lips not leaving each other not even for a second and their hands hungry for each other until an old lady passed by them and shouted “you youngsters really think you can do anything these days huh?” and they felt bad,and the girls Mia and Wahu started to move away until the old lady added “kissing everywhere in public” so as they walked away Mia looked back and asked the old lady angrily “can you please not discriminate against us because were queer?”and the old lady looked directly at her in defiance and said “what in Hades name do you mean by queer, young lady?” and Mia said “gay” and the old lady looked at her and blurted out laughing.Mia was now offended. She was fuming mad and Wahu was pretty scared.“who in the world would care about that?you’re a beautiful couple just don’t rub it in my face I like being angry and not smiling at young people showing too much pda in a public park is all” and the girls were at a loss for words. She didn’t even care? Or is it that she didn’t notice or didn’t understand what they meant by the word gay. But then what she said afterwards threw them off by a miles radius. “you’re a beautiful girl clearly in love with this other beautiful lady who seems very scared standing behind you, that’s not a problem, you’re both smiling and its clearly consensual why should I care about your genders?There’s rapists, pedophiles, child abusers, people who hit their spouses, politicians, Nazis, white supremacists,police brutality, hunger, poverty disease and if I go on ill run out of breath and I’m old, what I’m trying to say is, there’s matters that should be addressed that make people unhappy and make people suffer, why should I fault you for where you find your happiness when were all trying to find a piece of it?If the person you go home to makes you happy why should anyone care whether they own a dick or a strap-on or even both if the lot of you are kinky little fuckers?” she added with a wink and by now both girls were keenly listening to her.“Now you can hold hands and kiss but y’all looked like you needed a room right there and girls, when it looks like you need a room I really mean you did….almost jumping each other in the middle of the park!!Now ladies, can I angrily continue with my rounds around the park in angry peace?”And she winked at the girls and went on her way. Did she just cause an entire scene just to school them on how very woke she was??? no one would ever know. But they needed it. To know that there were evils in the world, evils that hurt people and stole from them and killed, there was hate in the world, and loving whoever you loved was no evil and maybe an old woke woman should speak to the world.A short June piece for pride month….Happy pride to everyone that celebrates and loves this beautiful month as much as my queer self does.
